New York Car Accident Results In Multiple Injuries

On behalf of Licatesi Law Group, LLP posted in personal injury on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
Many drivers may find roadway intersections confusing and dangerous. Whether stop signs, traffic lights or other directional objects are used in the area, many individuals may still feel uncertain about when they have the right of way and whether another driver will heed the directions posted. Unfortunately, a car accident can easily take place at an intersection due to a driver failing to stop. It was recently reported that such an accident took place in New York. Apparently, a man was driving a vehicle southbound when he did not stop at a stop sign posted at an intersection. As a result, his car collided with another vehicle that was traveling westbound. The incident took place at approximately 6:15 p.m. There were five people in the westbound car and four people in the southbound car. The incident resulted in seven people — three from the westbound vehicle and all four individuals in the southbound vehicle — suffering injuries. Though the injuries were not considered life-threatening, the people were still taken to area hospitals for treatment. It was noted that the driver who failed to stop at the stop sign was given four summonses. The individuals injured in this New York car accident may have many challenges to face in the aftermath of the incident. If their injuries prove serious, they may need considerable medical attention and time away from work in order to heal. These issues could easily lead to financial burdens for which they may want to seek compensation. Information on filing personal injury claims may help them determine whether it could prove beneficial to pursue restitution for damages permitted under state law.
