Serious car crashes can occur in the blink of an eye, especially when a driver veers out of his or her lane. Head-on motor vehicle accidents are common occurrences that can lead to serious repercussions for the individuals involved. Unfortunately, such an accident recently took place in New York, and the incident resulted in a fatality.

Reports state that the crash took place between a charter bus and another vehicle. The bus was traveling north when the driver of the other car crossed from the southbound lane into the northbound lane. As a result, the car collided with the front of the bus. The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. It was unclear whether there were any passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.

The driver of the car suffered blunt-force injuries that proved fatal. He was reported as being 20 years old. The 61-year-old bus driver was transported from the scene with serious injuries, but she is expected to survive. Both drivers had to be cut from their vehicles by emergency personnel.

Motor vehicle accidents that have such outcomes can be difficult for those who were involved, especially when serious injuries result. Though the driver of the car died as a result of this New York crash, the bus driver may still be able to pursue a personal injury claim if she wishes. Filing such a claim against the estate of the driver deemed at fault could allow her to seek compensation for her injuries and other damages.
