Serious car crashes occur far too often on the roadways. Though these motor vehicle accidents are relatively common, many of them could potentially have been avoided if certain driving mistakes had not been made. Nonetheless, these incidents may lead individuals to face considerable changes in their lives due to the outcomes of the crashes.

Multiple individuals were recently affected by an accident that took place in New York. Reports stated that traffic had caused a semi-truck driver to stop in the roadway, and a second tractor-trailer was apparently unable to stop and collided with the first truck. A pickup truck and passenger car were also caught in the collision. The pickup ended up beneath the second tractor-trailer, and the car landed on top of a concrete median.

There were five individuals in the pickup truck, and three of them died as a result of the crash. The two remaining occupants were seriously injured. The driver of the car also suffered serious injuries, and two individuals in one of the semi-trucks were reported as having suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police were still investigating at the time of the report.

The impacts of this crash may be far reaching, as with many motor vehicle accidents. The families of the deceased victims and the injured parties will undoubtedly have difficult times dealing with the aftermath of the incident. As they work to move on and recover from the event, they may wish to consider their legal options for seeking compensation for damages permissible under New York law.
