RICHARD HARRIS RUBIN, ESQ.

Richard H. Rubin is a member of Rubin & Licatesi PC, and has practiced Real Estate Law with a broad based interest in representing mortgage bankers, institutional investors, businesses and individuals in residential and commercial real estate lending, purchase, sales and leasing transactions. Mr. Rubin coordinates a team of real estate attorneys, paralegals and real estate professionals combining many years of experience in the real estate community.

As has been widely described, a significant portion of his practice continues to meet the current economic conditions and demands which have significantly affected the rights and obligations of businesses and families managing loan modification issues and defending foreclosure actions. Among his numerous concerns are providing counsel to prudently considered solutions for borrowers and lenders to implement action plans and recommendations and address these various issues.

In addition to serving this fast paced environment of home and business retention efforts, Mr. Rubin has undertaken to represent clients and serves as counsel in the defense of litigated foreclosure actions, sharing the goals of both Federal and State regulators to comply with various mortgage loan assistance programs which are current and in place to provide balance against the immediate loss of significant ownership affairs, rights and privileges.

ANTHONY J. LICATESI, ESQ.

Anthony J. Licatesi is the senior litigating partner of Rubin & Licatesi, P.C., a law firm with practice concentration in personal injury as well as no-fault medical collections through arbitrations and civil litigation.  

Mr. Licatesi heads an impressive litigation team with many years of experience as trial counsel to many law firms as well as numerous health care providers.  The firm has had tremendous success representing persons involved in all types of serious injuries and accidents.  In addition, Rubin & Licatesi is a pioneer in the No-fault legal industry and the leading No-fault Arbitration/Civil Litigation firm in New York State.

Mr. Licatesi frequently lectures attorneys and health care providers regarding New York State No-fault laws and regulations.  He has been a guest lecturer for New York State Chiropractic Association, Physical Therapy Provider Network, New York State Chiropractic Counsel as well as the American Arbitration Association.  

Mr. Licatesi understands that the underlying foundation of today's society is our youth and therefore was an integral part of a humanitarian movement within the real estate and construction industry to benefit our children.  Mr. Licatesi is an original member of the Board of Directors for the Torch Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable organization within the real estate and construction industries whose single goal is to raise money for needy children's charities.  To date, the Torch Foundation has raised millions of dollars for such children organizations as Tomorrow's Children's Fund, Hope with the Heart, The New York Child Learning Institute, Covenant House, Cleary School for the Deaf, The child's School and Columbian Presbyterian Medical Center.  Mr. Licatesi has also been an active fund raiser for numerous charities falling outside of the scope of the Torch Foundation.

As an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyer's Associations, Mr. Licatesi has work with the Governor's office, as well as the New York State Insurance Department involving various procedures and regulations within New York State's Insurance laws.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management from New York University in 1984 and graduated from Hofstra University School of Law receiving his Juris Doctor in 1987.

Mr. Licatesi is a resident of Nassau County and married with three children.  He currently serves on the Hofstra University Frank G. Zarb School of Business Dean's Executive council as well as The Advisory Board of the American Arbitration Associations.

Mr. Licatesi has also been an active member of the Atlantic Beach community.  He has served as President of the Atlantic Beach Estates Civic Association and is currently a Commissioner of the Greater Atlantic Beach Water Reclamation District.  Additionally, he has volunteered his time as Commissioner and coach to the Cedarhurst, Hewlett and Woodmere Little Leagues.  Mr. Licatesi was elected to the Lawrence School District Board of Education in 2002.

ALAN M. ELIS, ESQ.

Mr. Elis represents doctors patients in no-fault arbitrations. In addition, his specialty in no-fault insurance is manifested in his experience with a wide variety of cases and clients. He oversees preparation of no-fault filings and prepares the filing of complex cases. Mr. Elis negotiates settlements and advises clients on the preparation of no-fault claims. He has been involved in major litigation concerning the corporate status of healthcare providers and has argued such issues in arbitrations. He has prepared numerous briefs for no-fault litigation, arbitration and master arbitration and has submitted three advisory briefs to the State Insurance Department.

Mr. Elis has represented plaintiffs in personal injury actions; conducted jury trials, inquests, arbitrations and depositions; and negotiated personal injury settlements. He has represented debtors in personal bankruptcies and creditors in collections matters. He has represented insurance companies in surety bond and subrogation claims; banks in prosecution of foreclosures, as well as in defense of truth in lending claims. He has also represented unions in litigation and in employee discharge arbitrations.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, Mr. Elis earned his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University’s School of Law. He also served as a law review research editor.

WILLIAM PIKE, ESQ.

William Pike is an associate with the firm, focusing on litigation and real estate.  In addition, he prepares the paperwork for and represents doctors in No-Fault arbitrations.  Since joining the firm, Mr. Pike has also been instrumental in several corporate matters.  Moreover, Mr. Pike is a writer for the firm’s web blog, AccidentsHappenblog.com.

Mr. Pike is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany (B.A. Cum Laude, 2003), where he was awarded Academic All American, District 1 while a scholar athlete for the University.  William graduated Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center (J.D. Magna Cum Laude, 2009), where he served as the Senior Research Editor for the Touro Law Review, was a Faculty Fellow, and editor for the school’s newspaper, The Restatement.  Mr. Pike received three CALI Awards, for most outstanding student in Legal Writing, Business Organizations and Real Estate Transactions.


Joseph A. Aufenanger, Esq.

 Mr. Aufenanger represents clients in the litigation department of Rubin & Licatesi, P.C.  A graduate of Hofstra University School of Law in 1994, where he was awarded Levine Scholarship for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.  Mr. Aufenanger brings over 15 years of courtroom experience to the firm.  Prior to joining Rubin & Licatesi, P.C., he was a partner in the law firm of Spinola & Mirotznik, P.C. and after assisting in the election of Judge Joseph P. Spinola to the bench, founded in the law firm of Boyd & Aufenanger, L.L.P, in Uniondale, New York.
 
Mr. Aufenanger brings extensive legal experience in the areas of personal injury litigation, real estate closings, wills, trusts and estates, as well as commercial litigation and general corporate governance. 
 
He is a member in good standing with the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Great Neck Lawyers Association.  Mr. Aufenanger serves as a Mediator in Nassau County Supreme Court.  Additionally, Mr. Aufenanger has served as an adjunct professor at Hofstra Law School’s Trial Techniques course as well as volunteering as a judge at Statewide High School Mock Trial Tournaments.
